What is a Short Video?
A short video is a tall video of short length recorded using a smartphone camera. Platforms like TikTok, Youtube, Instagram feature this short video format prominently. The length of a short video ranges from a few seconds to over a single minute.
In rare cases, the term "short video" actually just means "short video" without the implication it's been recorded using a smartphone or that its orientation is vertical.
After its inception, the term "long video format" began being used in contrast to refer to platforms that allow longer videos (e.g. over one hour), such as Youtube and Vimeo.
