What is a Third Party Video Downloader?

A third-party video downloader is a website, application, or web browser extension that lets you to download a video from a platform that normally wouldn't allow you to download videos, such as Youtube, Twitter, Bluesky, Instagram, etc.

There could be technical reasons for a platform to not allow you to download its videos, but most likely the reason for this is that letting everyone easily download videos would cost a lot of money without making them any money, since most of these platforms are monetized with ads, and you don't watch ads if you download the video as a file to play in a normal video player.
