What is a Mention on Social Media?
A mention is an action available on social media websites in which you, usually, type an at character (@) followed by a handle (i.e. a username) of a user to mention them in a post, notifying them of the mention, and creating a link to their profile page in the post.
For example, if you type "@john posted a new video," this will notify a user with the handle john and create a link to their profile on various platforms.
