Hello, does changing of your handle have any effect on lists, followers and accounts I follow? Do I need to publicize my updated handle and loose all folowers?

    1. Administrator

No. It seems all data on Bluesky is stored internally associated with an automatically generated identifier called "DID." Your handle is just a nickname for your DID. When you change your handle on Bluesky, it doesn't change your DID, and all your data is associated with the DID, so you don't have to worry about losing your followers.

Thank you very much for this. I accidentally mistyped my name. PD: I checked the page on Christmas, and the visual effects are lovely and bizarre (in a good way) ¡Great design!

What's the maximum length of a username?
(For me it seems to be 12)
Or is it that hyphens are actually not allowed?

Hyphens are not allowed. I noted this on the account creation article [https://www.virtualcuriosities.com/articles/1827/how-to-create-an-account-in-bluesky] but if a username contained invalid characters the error displayed at the time was simply that it was "too short" or "too long."
